Business Teacher’s Entrepreneurship Workshop

The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration will host a FREE one-day workshop for high school business teachers interested in teaching entrepreneurship or embedding the entrepreneurial mindset in their classrooms. Teachers will learn what makes a great entrepreneur; what is in a business plan; state guidelines; how to conduct an elevator pitch competition; and classroom activities, assignments and resources suitable for their students. Who should attend: Any teacher or student advisor interested in teaching or incorporating entrepreneurship into their classes. Topics covered will include how to teach students to write a business plan, suggested classroom activities, assignments, and resources, and how to conduct an elevator pitch competition.

Dr. Tammy Schakett is an assistant professor of entrepreneurship at ONU. She has been involved with entrepreneurial education for more than 15 years and has assisted many individuals in starting small businesses.
Greg Malkin is the director of the Entrepreneur Institute at University School, a private high school in Hunting Valley, Ohio. Since joining the University School in 2005, he has won numerous awards for his work, including the 2010 Teacher of the Year by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, 2010 Outstanding Entrepreneurship Educator by the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education, and the 2011 Leavey Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education by the Freedoms Foundation.
Malkin earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in education from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
Presentations will be held at The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University.
