The Alumni B.E.A.R.S. Program is an opportunity for alumni across the country to recruit talented students to attend Ohio Northern University. There are many different ways to volunteer and reconnect with your alma mater. Please browse the sections below to see how you would like to help!

College Fair Representation
Are you interested in helping represent Ohio Northern University at a college fair near you? If so, the Office of Admissions would appreciate your help! We send you all the materials needed and a training guide to answer any questions you may have. College fairs take place in the fall (mostly in September, October & November) and the spring (mostly in March & April), so there are numerous opportunities for you to either accompany an admissions staff member or attend the college fair on behalf of ONU.

Alumni State Profiles
The Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Admissions are working together to increase the number of out-of-state students attending ONU. The link profiles alumni living in each state in the United States. This feature helps perspective students discover that ONU alumni live and thrive in Ohio and beyond! At this time, we have no alumni representatives for 13 states on the map, including Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Vermont, and Wyoming. We would love to have YOUR help with this program! If you are interested in being featured on the admissions website (through a short autobiography and a picture), please contact:

Note Card Writing
The note card writing program is a fantastic way to express your favorite ONU memories to future Northern students. (Note cards are sent to accepted and deposited students.) Volunteers hand write a short note to incoming first-year students to welcome them to the ONU family/campus community and wish them well as they embark on their college journey; a journey we are certain many of YOU remember fondly! We will send you several note cards in postage-paid envelopes on which you can include a brief welcome message. We will pair you with the perfect future freshman (based on geographic region, major, etc.).

Student/Alumni Receptions
Student/Alumni receptions are an opportunity for alumni to meet students who have been accepted to ONU, but have not made their final decision, as well as those who have deposited and have decided to attend ONU. These events are an opportunity for you to share your Ohio Northern stories, encourage the students as they make their final decision, and get them excited to attend ONU. These receptions allow perspective students with their families to mingle with area alumni, current students and staff of ONU.
