McIntosh Tables A week in which Muslim Student Associations across the nation are trying to promote peace and understanding within their communities. The event's purpose it to make it clear that although we have many differences, we also have many similarities. The MSA hopes to additionally clear up misconceptions about Islam and Muslims by giving students the opportunity to ask questions and participate in several different activities. There will also be opportunities for free food!
Monday (3/11): General Information. You have the opportunity to ask questions about Islam, and obtain information from Muslim students. McIntosh Tables, 5-7 p.m.
Tuesday (3/12): You have the opportunity to have your names written in Arabic. The MSA will also be focusing on common stereotypes about Islam. McIntosh Tables, 5-7 p.m.
Wednesday: (3/13): The differences between cultural practices and true islamic teachings, "The Cultural Confusion" at 5 p.m. in the McIntosh Activities Room. There will also be a Q&A session and refreshments.
Thursday (3/14): You have the opportunity to try on the Hijab (head covering) that is worn by Muslim women. It is an opportunity to understand how we view ourselves and our form of dress. McIntosh Tables, 5-7 p.m.
Friday (3/15): You have the opportunity to attend an Islamic Friday prayer in Clark Hall at 12:15 p.m. and listen to a religious sermon in English.
