High School Students Conduct Engineering Research at ONU

Devin Kisor and Kevin Romey, both Bluffton High School seniors, are conducting research this summer at Ohio Northern University under the guidance of Dr. Jed E. Marquart, professor of mechanical engineering. The students are able to research at the University because of a grant from the Ohio Space Grant Consortium, which is funded by NASA. They are taking part in a program designed to provide research experience to high school students who are interested in engineering careers. Kisor and...

Students to Measure Wind Speed at ONU

The Ohio Northern wind turbine research team installed wind data collection instruments on ONU's radio tower on June 23, 2008. The devices will measure wind speed and direction for the next year. The collected data will be used to determine if it is economically viable for the University to use wind power to supplement its energy usage. The team decided that wind speeds and direction would be measured at the estimated height of wind turbines before plans were made for a possible wind...
