University to hold wind turbine celebration

Ohio Northern University is holding a wind turbine celebration on Friday, May 21, at 1 p.m. The event will take place at the base of the newly constructed trio of wind turbines off Klingler Road. Dr. Khalid S. Al-Olimat, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Ohio Northern University, is part of a nationwide consortium from 65 universities cooperating as part of a $2.5 million U.S. Department of Energy grant to be awarded to the University of Minnesota. Student teams from Ohio Northern University’s T.J. Smull College of Engineering garnered 15th- and 22nd-place finishes at the 2010 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aero Design competition in Fort Worth, Texas.
