John Robert Armstrong is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association and has performed in musical and straight theatre all over the country. His professional credits include The national tour of Seussical the Musical, Pure Heaven (with Ruth Williamson) at the Emelin Theatre in NY, The Piper (with Christiane Noll) at the New York Music Theatre Festival, Macbeth, Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Santaland Diaries (one man) at The Cardinal Stage Company, Treasure Island (musical) at Beef and Boards, and various other regional theatres in Colorado, Florida and Indiana as well as the studio recording of Not Exactly Romeo, a new musical.
John holds a B.A. in musical theatre and an M.F.A in acting from Indiana University, where he trained and performed with success for several years. His roles at Indiana included Guido in Nine, John Proctor in The Crucible, Leo Frank in Parade, The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, Marvin in Falsettos, and many more. During his tenure at Indiana John taught courses in acting and voice, and workshops in stage combat and musical theatre. He also received several awards for acting and musical theatre and was instrumental in the development of the B.F.A musical theatre program. John has also served as a teaching artist in acting and musical theatre at Indiana Repertory Theatre and, on a recurring basis, at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ
