ONU's Mock Trial Team 448 has qualified for the National Mock Trial Tournament by finishing in a tie for seventh place at the Cincinnati Regional Qualifying Tournament.

Three Engineering Students Receive Scholarships
Three civil engineering students: Nathan Bair, a senior from Upper Sandusky, Ohio; Joel Metzker, a junior from Sunbury, Ohio; and Justin Stone, a senior from Burton, Ohio, have been awarded the Flexible Pavement of Ohio Scholarships of $1,000 each, for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Flexible Pavements of Ohio is an association for the development, improvement and achievement of quality asphalt pavement construction in Ohio. Each year is provides 25 to 30 scholarship awards to Ohio students. It also sponsors a student asphalt mixture competition.

Ohio Northern Student Is Winner of the AICUO Art Award and a Finalist for the Grand Award
Ohio Northern University student Andrew Steingass, a senior studio arts major from Ada, Ohio, was selected as a winner for the 2009 Excellence in Visual Arts Award from the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO). He also was one of six finalists for the AICUO Grand Award. The students were chosen from a field of 21 students nominated from colleges and universities affiliated with the AICUO.

Miles From Home: Julia Tabaj Shares Experiences From China
Julia Tabaj, a senior computer science major from Twinsburg, Ohio, is
currently far from Ohio's blustery winter weather. In fact, she's far
from this continent altogether. Tabaj is spending a school year abroad
at the Southwest University for Nationalities in Chengdu, China.
Tabaj decided to study in China after enrolling in Mandarin Chinese
classes at ONU during her junior year.

PoliSci Honor Society Awarded Research Grant
Dr. Robert Alexander, BA '94, associate professor of political science and the chapter advisor, said that, with the recent presidential election and meeting of the Electoral College, it "made sense" to make it the focus of Pi Sigma Alpha's research.

Student Design Major Puts “Mind To Work”
Ohio Northern University graphic design major Katelyn Amendolara, a sophomore from Canfield, Ohio, presented at Heidelberg’s 16th annual Minds at Work Student Research Conference on Feb. 19. A scholarly event, the conference opened its doors to students from regional colleges and universities to present research projects on a wide variety of subjects.
