Elevator Pitch Competition
The first CEO (Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization) Elevator Pitch Competition involved 11 student competitors from pharmacy, engineering, arts and sciences, and business administration in idea presentations lasting 90 seconds.
Five students were selected to go to a second competition round. The winners were Chris Corrado, a junior in marketing from Cincinnati, Ohio, for Underwater Putt-putt, and Jonathan Curry, a sophomore in management from Zanesville, Ohio, for Books Galore! They represented ONU in the national CEO Elevator Pitch competition in Chicago on Nov. 7.
The five finalists won cash prizes ranging from $50 to $200 courtesy of the Kern Family Foundation, which funded the project, authored by Drs. James Fenton, Robert Kleine and J.D. Yoder to instill an entrepreneurial mindset throughout ONU.
The elevator pitch competition will be repeated in winter and spring quarters, and cash prize tracks will be established for each college that enters at least five students in the competitions.
