Physics Research by James Gallagher

James C. Gallagher, a senior in physics from Medina, Ohio, is a collaborator on a research paper to be published in Physical Review, the flagship journal of the American Physical Society and the American Institute of Physics.

Gallagher was a part of the College of Wooster's National Science Foundation Research Experience of Undergraduates (NSF-REU). Under the leadership of John Lindner, professor of physics at Wooster, and Barbara Breen, professor of physics at Portland, the researchers created a unique mechanical arrangement of one-way coupled oscillators. The experiment demonstrated that arrays capable of making one-way waves can work.
