ONU's Bob Peterson '83, is Director for Pixar's UP (See the Video)

Certainly one of today's visionaries, Bob Peterson graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is now a director and animator for Pixar Inc. In addition to his writing, directing and animating skills, Peterson also does voiceovers for his films. He was the voice of Mr. Ray the Scientific Stingray in Finding Nemo and stars as Dug, the talking dog, in UP.

"How does an engineer from ONU wind up writing and directing computer animations for Pixar? I trace it directly back to the Northern engineering faculty, who had the vision to offer new technology courses such as Computer Graphics in the early 1980s. My professors were very encouraging and helped me balance my interest in the arts with my education in engineering. Northern has always amazed me - a small college with a nationally known engineering program. What a great school!"
