Professors Receive IEEE Honors
Assistant professors of computer and electrical engineering Dr. Sami Khorbotly and Dr. Firas Hassan, with the Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science department, have recently received one of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Real World Engineering Project (RWEP) awards for 2010.

Broedel-Zaugg Named to Agency Board
Kimberly Broedel-Zaugg, professor of pharmacy practice, has been appointed to the board of trustees for the Area Agency on Aging, Area 3, formerly PSA 3.

ONU Represented at National Association of College Admission Counseling
Karen Condeni, vice president and dean of enrollment, has been named to the national professional development committee of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC).

Myers Leads Chemical Society Web Update
There is a new Web site for the American Chemical Society Organic Division, thanks in part to the work of Brian Myers, associate professor of chemistry.

Law anniversary logoONU to Compete in National Baja Competition
The Ohio Northern University off-road vehicle team will compete against more than 100 universities in the 2010 national Baja Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE) Carolina competition from April 8-11. To prepare for the event, the Ohio Northern team gave its new car a thorough shakedown at the regional winter competition at Michigan Tech in February, where they placed third overall.

Technological Studies Honorary Receives Regional Chapter Award
The Gamma Lambda Chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau International honorary society for professions in technology was awarded the William E. Warner Region 3 chapter award at the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association conference in Charlotte, N.C.

Winter Quarter Dean's List
Updated list of fulll-time students with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher is now available.

Students Urged to Complete Census
Census Day is April 1, 2010. If you are in the United States on that day, you need to be counted.

Relay For Life
For the sixth year on the Ohio Northern University campus, walkers will go around the clock to benefit the battle against cancer during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Freas 'Planting and Harvesting Poetry'
Henry (Pete) Freas, BA '65, reports, "I have settled into Chesapeake, VA, in my third retirement, now planting and harvesting poetry full time, mostly in the Hampton Roads communities, where I maintain an information Web site at www.chesbaypoets.org, issue a weekly online newsletter of literary events occurring all over the community for the week and coming shortly, and publish SKIPPING STONES, an (approximately annual) anthology of poems by area poets. (So far I have produced six editions and am working on the next). If anyone should be interested in what it is I am doing, I invite them to visit my poetry information Web site listed above.
