Carhart lecturerCopyright Scholar to Speak at Law College
Ohio Northern University's Pettit College of Law will present a lecture by William Patry, senior copyright counsel at Google Inc., in the Moot Court Room at the College of Law on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. Part of the Fred L. Carhart Memorial Program in Legal Ethics, Patry's lecture, "What Will it Take to Fix Copyright?" will focus on the subpar state of copyright law.

Keiser lectureStem Cell Research Expert to Lecture
Ohio Northern University will host a lecture by leading stem cell research expert Dr. Renee Reijo-Pera in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. Reijo-Pera’s presentation, “Human Health, Development and Stem Cells,” is part of the Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in Life Sciences program.

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents "Be the Groove" and the ONU Dance Company on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'
Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" from Oct. 13-16 at 8 p.m. with a matinee performance on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Alexander Named to National Committee
Dr. Robert Alexander, associate professor of political science, has have been appointed to the National Executive Committee of Pi Sigma Alpha, the collegiate honor society for political science.

Math Paper Published
Dankook award winner Greg Back, BSCPE '10, and Dr. Mihai Caragiu, professor of physics, are authors of an article accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed academic journal Fibonacci Quarterly.

Semester Transition Update
ONU students are urged to contact their academic advisor to begin work on individualized transition plans as the university prepares for the upcoming calendar switch to semesters in fall 2011. Each student’s transition plan should be completed prior to advanced winter quarter registration in mid-October.

The work of selected Ohio Northern alumni will be on exhibit during Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Elzay Gallery of Art. An opening reception will also be held directly following the Homecoming parade. The exhibit, "What Lies Ahead," will be on display Oct. 1 through 11.

Football Moves Up to No. 8
The Ohio Northern football team moved up two spots to No. 8 nationally in the fourth weekly D3Football.com poll, released late Sunday night.

Women’s Soccer to Host ‘Kicks for a Cause’
In addition to hosting OAC opponent Mount Union, the women’s soccer team plans to make the Oct. 2 game an even more memorable event. The Polar Bears will be hosting its “Kicks for a Cause” fundraiser, to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization of Northwest Ohio.
