Psychology Professor, ONU Alumna Honored
Alfred Cohoe, Ohio Northern University professor of psychology and sociology, and Shalagh Frantz, a 2009 Ohio Northern psychology graduate, both received awards at the meeting of the Ohio Psychological Association in Columbus, Ohio, on Nov. 11-13.

16th annual Holiday Spectacular
Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the 16th annual performance of Holiday Spectacular at the Freed Center on Friday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. There also will be performances at the Civic and Convention Center in Lima on Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m.

Passport Fair
Need a passport for study abroad or international travel?
Attend Passport Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, in the McIntosh Center. Bring a certified copy of your birth certificate and a photo ID; two checks or money orders are required for payment. The basic adult passport fee is $150 and includes photo. Passport photos will be taken on site (2X2-inch color).

Metta Lou Henderson Recognized for Pioneering Work
During the University of Arizona's 125th-year commemoration the University of Arizona Alumni Association recognized the achievements of Dr. Metta Lou Henderson, ONU professor of pharmacy emerita.

African Trip Unraveled

Law professor Bruce Comly French and retired Union County Common Pleas Judge Richard Parrott, JD '60, visited southern and eastern African this past summe, but things did not go as planned.

Ward Attends Seminar
Jane Ward, employer relations manager from the Office of Career Services, attended a Secret Services Career Counselor Seminar on Friday, Nov. 19 at the U.S. Secret Service office in Toledo, Ohio. The agency is seeking candidates for special agents and uniformed division officers. All majors are being sought.

Drupal User Group Meets Dec. 8
The Drupal Users Group of Ohio Northern University is designed to provide ONU Web site contributors with the knowledge, skills and confidence to help make www.onu.edu reflect of the excellence of the institution on every page.

HealthWise Offers Newsletter
ONU HealthWise, the University health and wellness program, is offering a monthly newsletter, written by faculty and students, featuring timely topics related to your health. The current topics are Cold Prevention, Seasonal Allergies, and Pertussis and Influenza Recommendations.

Scholarship Days Coming in January, February
Faculty, staff and alumni are invited to take part in three scholarship interview days, Jan. 22, 29 and Feb. 12. To learn more, contact Courtney Nign in the Office of Admission, ext. 2263.

Food for Fines at Heterick Library

Food for Fines at the Heterick Memorial Library will be Dec. 1-7, in celebration of national "Roof Over Your Head Day."

Toy Drive
The ONU Lions Club toy drive has begun. The toys will be donated to underprivileged children by a local charitable organization, Love Inc.

Eyeglasses Recycling
The ONU Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids throughout the entire year.

Klondike Raffle
The Ohio Northern University Support Staff Association (ONUSA) will be raffling off a retired Boyd’s Bear named Klondike. The drawing will be Dec. 14.

HOBY Alums Return
Thirty-five high school juniors and seniors from Northwest and North Central Ohio, all alumni of the HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership) program, will return to ONU for an overnight seminar in advanced leadership training, Dec. 3 and 4.
Housed in Stambaugh Hall, the students will learn about global leadership, taking leadership into the professional world, and volunteerism from speakers and panelists in Dicke Hall sessions. As a community service project, they will be providing and wrapping holiday gifts for the ONU Secretary's Association Christmas project. Among the 15 HOBY staff members coordinating the event are ONU’s Matt Lambdin, College of Business, Alyssa Ahlers and Emily Buehler, Office of Admissions.

Fall Dean's List
Undergraduate students have been named to the Dean's List for Fall quarter, 2010-11. Students on the Deans' List
must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled full-time.

Taylor Kuhlman Leads Men's Basketball Past Susquehanna
Sophomore Taylor Kuhlman scored a team-high 12 points, leading the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 62-49 victory over Susquehanna (Pa.) in the Consolation Game of the Carnegie Mellon Tournament Sunday afternoon at Skibo Gymnasium.
