ONU grad, Amy Beaschler, returns to talk to DCBA students

ONU alumna, Amy Beaschler visited The James F. Dicke College of Business this week where she spoke in Dr. Dexter Woods’ Business Law classes on Thursday and Prof. Art Elsass’ Management Information Systems classes on Friday.  Her talk was entitled “Life’s Lessons: Amy’s Journey” in which she described how the ten tips in Dr. John C. Maxwell’s book Travelling Through Life applied to her own life.  Amy enthusiastically explained “It’s not about the destination.  It’s all about the journey.”  Prof. Elsass appreciated Ms. Beaschler’s willingness to talk to his classes, commenting “It’s important for students to hear real life stories from people working in the field.”

Ms. Beaschler graduated from ONU in 1980 with majors in Business Administration and History, and was re-degreed in 2004, when the College of Business was renamed The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration.

After leaving Ohio Northern, Ms. Beaschler has worked mostly in human resources and management, overseeing call centers for various telephone companies in eleven cities in Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Iowa, Barbados, and now Texas.  During her time in these locations, Ms. Beaschler enjoys exploring the area and becoming immersed in the culture.  Her current position is with GC Services in El Paso, TX as a project manager overseeing a call center of 350 employees that runs 24/7.

Ms. Beaschler earned her M.B.A. degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1993

Ms. Beashler will be featured in the spring edition of our “Business Exchange” magazine in an article about women in the workforce.

Ms. Beaschler has a family history and lineage at ONU with her brother Tom graduating in ’83, sister-in-law Patty ’84, brother Ron ’86, sister-in-law Christie ’87, uncle Don Beaschler ’61, and nephew John is currently a Freshman.  Her brother Ron is currently the coach of the ONU wrestling team.
