ONU to host entrepreneurship workshop on ‘Small Business Taxes’

The Entrepreneur Center in The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University continues its entrepreneurship workshop series in the Dicke Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m.
 
The topic of the workshop will be “Small Business Taxes,” and Matt Phillips, Ohio Northern professor of accounting, will be the main speaker.
 
Phillips earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and his master’s degree from Penn State University.
 
Prior to coming to Northern in 2011, Phillips taught at Indiana Wesleyan University and Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. A certified public accountant, Phillips also is the current treasurer of MountainVision Enterprises Inc. He has more than 25 years of experience with several worldwide manufacturers, including Barnes Group Inc. and Cummins Engine Company, as well as in public accounting with both Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton.
 
The workshop will be preceded by a networking event at 5:30 p.m. The workshop will follow the networking event and conclude at 7 p.m.
