“Thoroughly Modern Millie,” a musical based on the 1967 film “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” follows a young flapper, Millie, on her journey to find a rich husband. Along the way, she overcomes peril, uncovers a crime and discovers that money is not as valuable as true love.

Playing the lead role of Millie Dillmount is Rebecca Brunelle, a senior communication arts major from Lima, Ohio. Jimmy Smith is being played by Matthew Rarey, a senior communication arts major from Findlay, Ohio. Miss Dorothy Brown is being played by Mary Beth Donahoe, a senior theatre arts/musical theatre major from Lakewood, Ohio. Trevor Dorner, a sophomore theatre arts/musical theatre major from Perrysburg, Ohio, is playing the role of Trevor Graydon III.

Sarah Loman, a junior musical theatre major from Dallas, Texas, is playing Miss Flannery

The show is under the direction of visiting director Brandon Ivie, a director, dramaturge and producer who has worked regionally and on Broadway. He most recently directed “Cinderella” at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Wash., where he was on the artistic staff for four seasons.

Handling the choreography duties is visiting choreographer Sean McKnight, whose work on “Hot Mikado” earned him “Best Choreography” nominations for both the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards and the LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards. McKnight’s Broadway and national touring credits include “Chicago,” “The Producers” and “Shrek the Musical.”
