Chapter of the Year

ONU’s chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, has been named a “Best Chapter of the Year” by the national organization. Out of 749 chapters, the award is given to fewer than 10 universities across the country.

ONU’s Pi Iota chapter was chosen as one of five best chapters in schools with enrollments of fewer than 6,000 students.

The award recognizes chapters that are active in their departments and exhibit high levels of energy and creativity in furthering the goals of the honor society. In a letter to ONU President Dr. Daniel DiBiasio, Nancy McManus, Pi Sigma Alpha administrator said, “Professor Robert Alexander serves as faculty advisor to the chapter and should be recognized for extraordinary leadership and dedication to the political science students who are members of the chapter.”

The award includes a prize of $250 for the chapter.
