ONU Steppin' Out Scheduled

The Ohio Northern University Department of Dance presents Steppin’ Out at the Freed Center of the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.

In this fabulous revue of dance, a cast of 42, supported by a 17-piece orchestra, leaps into recreated dance numbers from memorable Broadway shows and Hollywood films. In this fantastic tribute to magnificent choreography, you will see such pieces as Steam Heat, Hot Honey Rag and a selection from the smash hit Cats.

The support team includes Laurie Bell, director of dance, Scott Henkels, technical director; Kathleen E. DeVault, production manager; and Peter Hynds stage manager mentor. The stage manager is Brett Anders, senior communication arts student from Findlay. Assistant stage manager is Jeff Ellis, a senior communications major from Hudson New Hampshire, with costume design by Cathy Smalley, associate lighting design by Jake Lemmenes, a senior communications arts major from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and orchestral arrangements by Lloyd Butler and Michael Jordan.

Steppin’ Out is underwritten in part by the ONU Cultural and Special Events Committee. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens and $9 for children 12 years and under. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling (419) 772-1900.
