Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences (PHBS) reflects its commitment to education, research, and service. PHBS is committed to:

  • Providing a curriculum which will assure the scientific competence of the pharmacy practitioner and to providing the fundamental background necessary for the development of pharmaceutical scientists of the future;
  • Contributing to the development of the foundational knowledge base through research in the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences represented in the Department;
  • Providing information, support and services to students, colleagues, the profession of pharmacy, the respective pharmaceutical sciences and the community at large, consistent with the expertise of the Department faculty.
