Based on Fellini's film 8 ½, this musical delighted Broadway theatregoers in a hit revival in 2003. Nine is the story of a celebrated Italian film director, Guido Contini, who has lost his creative inspiration under the looming deadline for his latest film. Contini attempts to court his muse through the company of beautiful women, all clamoring to be loved by him. Haunted by the shadows of his past, Contini is forced to contemplate the real substance of his life, which will become the material for his next film.
