ONU to host entrepreneurship workshop on ‘Small Business Taxes’

The Entrepreneur Center in The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University continues its entrepreneurship workshop series in the Dicke Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. The topic of the workshop will be “Small Business Taxes,” and Matt Phillips, Ohio Northern professor of accounting, will be the main speaker. Phillips earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and his master’s degree from Penn State University. Prior to coming to Northern in 2011, Phillips taught at Indiana Wesleyan University and Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. ONU announces Polar Innovation Exchange winners

Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration hosted the Polar Innovation Exchange on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The competition was created to encourage creativity, innovation and the spirit of the entrepreneurial mindset while challenging ONU student teams and individuals to create and share ideas that will improve our global community.To participate, competitors were required to prepare a concise two-minute presentation of a new business idea or product. Dr. Woods presents at Academic Business and Research Institute (AABRI) conference

Dr. Dexter Woods presented a paper entitled "Curriculum VITA:  Tax Class and the IRS Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program" at the Academic Business and Research Institute (AABRI) conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 6.  The paper abstract stated: "This paper discusses specific methods and benefits of interconnecting tax class with the IRS Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program.  In so doing, the paper demonstrates pedagogical applications in active, experiential, and service learning that can enhance all business courses." Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration honored Joanne (Griffith) Lipski with an Outstanding Service Award on Saturday, Oct. 1. The award, given annually at Homecoming, honors individuals who have provided sustained and outstanding service to, and whose contributions have positively impacted, the College of Business Administration and Ohio Northern.
