Ohio Northern University to conduct Pitch and Poster Competition

The Ohio Northern University James F. Dicke College of Business Administration will stage a pitch and poster competition on Tuesday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m.The competition is open to any ONU student who has a business concept. Students can compete in two different competitions: an elevator pitch or a poster competition.Students can choose to compete in one of five categories: improvement to society, improvement in health care, improvement through technology, improvement to education and the arts, or new business creation. One winner from each category will receive $50. The overall elevator pitch winner and overall poster winner will each win $250.Students choosing to pitch products only are also eligible for prizes. ONU grad, Amy Beaschler, returns to talk to DCBA students

ONU alumna, Amy Beaschler visited The James F. Dicke College of Business this week where she spoke in Dr. Dexter Woods’ Business Law classes on Thursday and Prof. Art Elsass’ Management Information Systems classes on Friday.  Her talk was entitled “Life’s Lessons: Amy’s Journey” in which she described how the ten tips in Dr. John C. Ohio Northern University presents senior vice president of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company

Ohio Northern University will host a lecture by Brenda S. Harmon, senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, in the forum of Dicke Hall on Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m.         The event, sponsored by The James F. ONU students help with tax preparation

Elderly and low-income tax payers in Hardin and surrounding counties can find free income tax assistance from Ohio Northern University business administration and law students through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). The VITA program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally $49,000 and below) individuals across the country who cannot prepare tax returns on their own. As part of this program, ONU students have received training and have become IRS certified to help prepare basic tax returns and identify special credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly. From March 7 through April 14, ONU students will offer free electronic filing (e-filing) services... continue reading

Beta Alpha Psi Leads the IRS' Voluntary Income Tax Program

This year Beta Alpha Psi is leading the IRS' Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program from the James F. Dicke College of Business Administration.  Under the program, ONU business and law students provide elderly and low-income taxpayers in Allen and Hardin counties free income tax assistance.  The students have received training and have become certified to help prepare basic and intermediate federal and state tax returns.  The advisor for the group is Dr. Dexter Woods. continue reading

Dicke College of Business Administration entrepreneurial idea pitch and poster competition for area high school and college students have been announced. The competition took place Tuesday, Feb. 8. Sarah Bachwitz, a senior international business and economics major from Buffalo, N.Y., garnered the $250 top prize for best pitch. New Student Organization, ONUSHRM, Chartered

The new ONU Society for Human Resource Management (ONUSHRM) student chapter was chartered on Tuesday, Jan. 18.The charter was presented by Charles Okorowski, president of Lima SHRM.
