PharmPharmaceutical business merges the fields of science, health care and business, combining the key elements of pharmaceutical-science and pharmaceutical-marketing programs. According to the U.S. Department of Labor and Statistics, careers in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries are expected to far exceed growth in other industries, leaving pharmaceutical business majors in an excellent position for an exciting and successful career.

What courses do pharmaceutical business majors take?

Majors split their time between science and business, building a solid background in the foundational sciences of biology and chemistry. The dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry are learned through courses in the Raabe College of Pharmacy. At the same time, The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration provides comprehensive knowledge of business principles and practices. Majors can select a concentration in management, marketing or economics.

Do I need an internship?

Yes, pharmaceutical majors are required to complete a four-credit-hour internship during their junior or senior year. Coveted internships are available with companies like Apotex, Medco and Teva.
