Poster Session Guidelines

  1. Posters are to be 3x4 ft in size and must be displayed in a vertical position from 2:30pm until 6:30pm in the McIntosh Ballroom in the location assigned to the participant. Entrants provide their own poster board or foam core backing. Poster board will be available at the ONU Bookstore.
  2. Poster Tables in the McIntosh Ballroom must be manned for judging between 3:00pm-6:00 p.m.on April 28th.
  3. Each poster file must also be converted to a PDF file and pasted into the appropriate folder on the P drive (P:\Spring 2010 Poster Pitch) by April 23rd. The computers on campus have the ability to convert to PDF if your own computer does not.
  4. Winning posters will be retained by the Entrepreneurship Program for use with classes in future quarters.
  5. Poster files must have your email name as part of the file name. Posters will printed and then held in the Entrepreneurship offices, rooms 111-112 Dicke. You will be notified by email when they are ready.
  6. Students must then obtain poster board, attach the poster to the poster board with spray adhesive and may store the poster board in the entrepreneurship offices or retain it themselves. Any posters stored in the entrepreneurship offices will be transported to the McIntosh Ballroom by 9:00am on May 3rd.
  7. Students are individually responsible for putting their poster on the correct table and manning the poster station at the required times.

  5. What is the estimated total size (market potential) of the initial customer group (market segment)? Will this market segment be adequate to support the business associated with the product/service idea?
  6. What is the underlying technology for the envisioned product/service idea?
  7. How is the technology unique and/or innovative?
  8. What is the current state of the technology? What are the steps needed to get to a prototype? How much will this cost?
  9. If this is an early stage idea, what assurances can you offer that it is feasible to create the product/service being proposed?
  10. Is there a clear window of opportunity for the product/service idea?
  11. What are the barriers to entry associated with this market?
