Publications
Student-run publications are one of the coolest features of Ohio Northern's English Department. Besides providing hands-on experience with writing, editing and publishing, these publications also give upperclassmen leadership opportunities as editors.
(R)emedia:
(R)emedia is an online publication that features various types of multimedia including, but not limited to, podcasts, videos, prezzi presentations, Korsakow films and webpages. The only requirement is an eagerness to participate and learn. Dr. Scott Rogers teaches the class and this year's co-editors are Patrick Fisher and Chris Matejka.
The Northern Review:
The Northern Review is Ohio Northern University's student-run newspaper. Dr. Bill O'Connell and Dr. Druann Bauer alternate advising the Northern Review staff. Dr. O' Connell is the advisor for the 2012-2013 academic year and Diego Sandino is this year's editor-in-chief.
Shakespeare and the Classroom:
Shakespeare and the Classroom is a publication jointly sponsored by The Shakespeare International Globe Centre (USA) and Ohio Northern University. Dr. Eva McManus co-edits this publication.
Polaris:
Polaris: Journal of Literature and the Arts is Ohio Northern University's literary journal that publishes selected student submissions including works of poetry, fiction, nonfiction and artwork. Dr. Jennifer Moore advises the Polaris staff and co-editors include Gayle Riedel, Alex Hartsel and Jim Scofield.
ETHOS:
ETHOS is a visual, interactive newsletter that highlights the happenings of ONU's English Department. By the end of the year, students will be capable of taking high-quality photographs, writing intriguing articles and in proficently using Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign. Dr. Bauer advises this publication and Joelle George is this year's editor-in-chief.
