Paul Clark

Paul Clark was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.

When working on the alphabet, Latex in 2005, Clark used the reflective and calligraphic qualities of black, elongated latex balloons, while twisting, tying and strangulating the characters into their appropriate shapes. The theme of using long balloons gave him the opportunity for manipulation and the ability to include the deflated portion of the balloon as a leading line for the viewer to increase interaction.

While designing, Clark enjoys manipulation and deconstruction among his images. His ideas are fresh and creative, creating attention and interest in the design world. In most designs, his playful interaction with color, shape and layout create a strong visual flow and successful hierarchy.

He has been excited to see work appear in books, magazines and on television. His art has been seen books, magazines and on television. Also, Clark’s work can been seen both domestically and abroad in a number of gallery shows.
