Degree Programs
The department offers the Bachelor of Science degree. Majors in the department include biology, molecular biology, forensic biology, environmental and field biology, and medical laboratory science. Opportunities exist in premedical sciences (including pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-occupational therapy, pre-optometry, pre-physician assistant, pre-physical therapy and pre-veterinary medicine).
In addition, many students find it desirable and career advantageous to have a second major or minor during their undergraduate program. Special requirements for all majors: MFT (Major Field Test), ALL biology courses must have a minimum grade of "C" or better..

Minors
Students majoring in Biology can choose to add a minor within the department (i.e. Environmental Studies) and must take an additional 8 hours in biology courses beyond the requirements of the minor.
Students in majors outside of the Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences may complete two minors from within the department by taking all required courses for each of the minors plus 8 additional hours of biology courses.
