Sandra L. Hrometz, professor of pharmacology, has successfully completed the examination to become a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP) through the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
The purpose of the CGP credential is to identify and recognize those pharmacists who have expertise in geriatric pharmacotherapy. It allows for the useful practice of Medication Therapy Management (MTM) principles for older adultsin hospital, community, long-term care and educational settings.

Three ONU students have been awarded scholarships from the Order of Omega.
Shana Tachikawa, a senior in journalism from Powell, Ohio, has been awarded the Patrick W. Holloran Scholarship while Jillian Schwerer, a senior in middle childhood education from Whitehouse, Ohio, and Tiffany Olberding, a pharmacy student from Minster, Ohio, have been awarded the Dr. Kent L. Gardner scholarships.

The Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University is embarking on a significant educational and scientific journey to keep students and the pharmacy profession on the leading edge of medical advances by focusing on pharmacogenomics education. Within its curriculum and beyond, the college connects the newest information regarding genetic variation (in how people “handle” and are affected by drugs) to the practice of pharmacy.

Thomas E. Menighan, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), will be the guest speaker during the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy’s third annual Sebok Pharmacy Lecture. Menighan will deliver his lecture, “It is an Exciting Time to be a Pharmacist,” in ONU’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m.

Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration hosted the Polar Innovation Exchange on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The competition was created to encourage creativity, innovation and the spirit of the entrepreneurial mindset while challenging ONU student teams and individuals to create and share ideas that will improve our global community.
