Ohio Northern University will host a bone marrow drive on the campus’s “Tundra,” just south of the English Chapel, on Friday, April 20, from 6-10 p.m.
The procedure is free and consists of a cheek swab and some paperwork to place participants on the national registry. Every registrant will be entered into a raffle for prizes donated by local businesses. The first 150 registrants also will receive a free T-shirt.











Students from Ohio Northern University’s T.J. Smull College of Engineering have created a team of robotic football players to compete in the fourth annual University of Notre Dame robotic football competition on Friday, April 20, at 7 p.m. in Notre Dame’s Stepan Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Sara Ginty, a fourth-year pharmacy student and organizational communication minor from Olmsted Falls, Ohio, presented at the Central States Communication Association Undergraduate Conference, March 28-31, 2012, in Cleveland. This year’s conference was exceptionally competitive with a less than at 25 percent acceptance rate. Ginty’s work was selected as an outstanding poster presentation at the conference.
Ohio Northern University student Calvin Ice, a fifth-year pharmacy major from Rawson, Ohio, has been chosen as a recipient of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Student Leadership Award. Ice is one of 12 students in the nation to be selected for the award.
Ohio Northern University student Zachary Dunn, a senior ACS chemistry and applied physics double major with an astronomy minor and an education concentration, has been selected as a Goldwater Scholar by the trustees of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Ohio Northern students have received this honor, the premier undergraduate award of its type in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.
