Student Employment
Information for Hiring Managers:

After your budget is established, if you would like to generate a time sheet for a student you wish to HIRE, please use this link: Web Time Entry Form to Hire Students
If you would like to receive a LIST of students interested in campus employment, please email your request to polarcareers@onu.edu .
If you are hiring a student on a GRANT via a stipend please contact us about the process.
Upon receiving your requests to hire a student, we will contact the Budget Director to verify whether or not funds need to be transferred. We will also verify the student's GPA, eligibility for federal work-study and his/her social standing. You will be notified if there are concerns. If no concerns are noted, your completed request will be sent to human resources for processing.
Please ask your student employees to check their web-based time sheet the Friday before their first time sheet is due to verify their employment paperwork has been processed without incident.
Information for Students:
If you have worked on campus previously, complete the no-change form in Human Resources (HR). If you have not previously worked on campus, download the forms by clicking the link below. Forms may also be picked up in Career Services or HR. Career Services is located on the second floor of McIntosh and HR is located in the Lehr Memorial Building, 1st Floor West.

To apply for campus employment or to look for on-campus jobs:
- Go to www.onu.edu /careers , click on the "Polar Careers powered by Symplicity" button, and log-in as a “Student.”
- Use your ONU email address (include “@onu.edu”) and password.
- Click on the “Student Employment” tab at the top of your Polar Careers homepage.
- Complete the “Student Employment Application” survey. Be sure to include your interests and skills!
Once you’ve submitted your survey, the results will be sent to Career Services. We will hold your information in our database and provide it to hiring managers when requested.
You can proactively search for on-campus student employment by going to the “Jobs” tab (“ONU Jobs”) in Polar Careers. Set the “Position Type” drop-down menu to “ONU Campus Jobs for Students” and click “Search”!
You can also apply to specific jobs on PolarCareers by uploading your resume and sending it to employers. All resumes must be reviewed and approved before use! This process may take a few days so plan accordingly.
