Can I come to the Health Center if I do not have insurance?
Absolutely! We see all students regardless of insurance coverage.
Do I need an appointment?
You do not need an appointment to see the nurse, but you are recommended to call for an appointment to see the doctor and encouraged to make one to see the PA-C for female exams.
Does it cost anything to come to the Health Center?
Our services are free (except for lab and x-ray which is charged from outside agencies).
Can I get prescriptions filled at the Health Center?
A prescription can be written for you to take to a pharmacy of your choice.
Can I get birth control there?
A prescription can be written for you when you see the Certified Physician Assistant.
Can I get over-the-counter medicines there?
Yes, we provide 2-3 day supply for free then you can pick up more at the local pharmacy.
What if I am sick after you are closed?
Please contact your resident assistant for assistance. Ada Life Medical facility across from King Horn is open until 9pm Monday - Friday and on Saturday morning from 9-12 noon. See Other Medical Resources for nearby hospitals, Health Departments, Urgent Care etc.
Do I need a step 1 or step 2 TB test before coming to campus?
The Athletic Trainers need a two-step as incoming students due to going out to medical agencies for experience/rotations for training. Most medical agencies require a two-step. Nursing and Pharmacy students need a one-step as incoming Freshman and will require a two-step when going out in rotations to medical agencies.
What information will the Health Center require prior to treatment/immunizations?
