Off-Campus Non-University Housing
Request to Live Off Campus
Please keep in mind that all full-time (12 credit hours) students, with exception to married students or students living with parents, grandparents, or siblings, are required to live in University housing, which includes residence halls, apartments, and fraternity and sorority houses.
In accordance with the University Housing Policy (as stated in the Student Handbook, page 25) at least one of the following criteria must be met in order for a student to move out of the residence halls at the beginning of an academic year:
- 3 years (9 quarters or 6 semesters) in the residence halls or apartments
- 23 years of age
- Commuting from the permanent residence of a parent, grandparent or sibling, within a 30-mile drive of campus
- An earned undergraduate degree
- Served in the armed forces and qualified for veterans' benefits
If you do not qualify for any of the above criteria, you are not eligible to live off campus.
Once you submit the form, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted by e-mail or a letter regarding your status. The link to the Request for Off Campus Approval can be found at the bottom of this page.
As of 2012 (applications for the 2013-2014 academic year), all off campus applicants will be required to attend a "Good Neighbor Meeting". Attendance at this meeting is required for off campus approval.
Please contact the Office of Residence Life with any questions.
