Rainbow Inclusion Workshop for Dept. of Chemistry & Biochemistry

The Rainbow Inclusion Workshop is requested by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources to create safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces for students and our colleagues of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.

Learning outcomes include:

• Understand key terms, definitions, and concepts related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
• Recognize the importance of inclusive language and behaviors in creating safe spaces.
• Identify and challenge assumptions and stereotypes related to LGBTQ+ individuals.
• Gain knowledge of resources and support services available for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff.
• Develop strategies to implement inclusive practices within your department or area of influence.

Any faculty and staff who would like to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community or be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community are welcome to schedule a session of the Rainbow Inclusion Workshop with the Chief Belonging, Inclusion, and Diversity Officer.
