Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research is “Data Central” for all things Ohio Northern University. The office collects, analyzes and interprets information to support the University’s decision-making and also serves as a resource for various audiences both inside and outside the University.

Goals and Objectives:
1. Collect, analyze and report data for informational needs of various stakeholders.
2. Promote best practices in assessment of student learning.
3. Support the evaluation of University programs, departments, services and personnel.
4. Disseminate exemplary information at the University, state, regional and national levels to help promote a culture of improvement.

University Data Reporting

Mission:
The mission of the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is to provide accurate and timely information and expertise to support research, planning and the decision-making processes of Ohio Northern University. The office plays a pivotal role in collecting, coordinating and analyzing data about and for the university and serves as the chief information clearinghouse for disseminating information to the administrators, faculty, staff, students and external constituents. Additionally, the office is also the primary contact for providing a coordinating role in campus-wide assessment and accreditation efforts.

Vision:
The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) will utilize state of the art tools to collect, analyze and interpret information to support the decision making of Ohio Northern University. OIR will be a visible, strategic partner to the university administration and faculty in providing adequate and appropriate direction to support the priorities and operations of the university.
